Salon Freestyle
Salon Freestyle is traditionally for doing teddy bear styles on Oodles or Shih Tzu or Maltese breed styling or turning one breed into another breed. This year we are introducing coat carving and creative runway styling so anything goes in terms of cutting and carving the coat. You can carve a smooth coat or do a spiral design on any breed with a suitable coat. A small amount of colour or bling is permitted but not extreme or more than 10% of the dog
so ears feet and tail may be coloured.
a little chalk may be added
a little glue on bling ( no glitter for safety reasons) all products must be dog safe.
Again “no extreme colour “ this comp.
We are working towards full creative in Sydney.
this is to be subtle and tasteful
No Asian Fusion Styling - please enter asian fusion class on sunday.
Groomers entering with colour wil be required to discuss plans with the organiser
before the comp to ensure it is within guidelines
Times

Great Prep.
Neatness and evenness of the finish.
of course in Entry and open you may clip as well at master level we want to see the best scissoring you can do .
For Poodles see rules below - this class will be combined.
Dogs must be groomed to fit breed profile such as you would see in the conformation ring.
Poodle Class
The judge’s will be looking at the coat preparation , amount of change, technique according to experience level along with balance, symmetry and shape, suitability to the Breed style. On All dogs judges will be looking at styling to breed standard based on what you have to work with start to finish.
Poodles
Large poodles may be required to commence grooming earlier while pre judging is completed due to time constraints.
Dogs with pre groomed feet face, throat and tail or for example, the body in continental will incur reduced time.
Poodle spray up time can be used at any time throughout grooming time.
Spray up extra 15 minutes (only to be used for spray up please advise when commencing spray ups)
Face – the muzzle may be Pre clipped but not the throat as setting of the pattern is part of the competition.
Feet - can be clipped before the competition begins.but bevels are not to be done. Only clipping the foot, itself
Tail set – must be done in the ring.
If feet face and tail is done in the ring additional 15 minutes is given.
Dogs who are clearly not in 6 to 8 weeks growth will have a reduced time allocated. It is very clear for example in a Continental or HCC if a dog had 3 weeks growth on the short area and clearly defined patterns. We appreciate you need to give yourself time to complete the groom however going in on a dog that was groomed 3 to 21 days prior is considered to be against rules of 6 to 8 weeks growth from the last groom. It is understandable some dogs grow faster than others. If you know your dog, please set it up to make a discernible change. A scissor tidy won’t be acceptable.
Poodles must be trimmed in a traditional breed standard trim.
Poodle Top Knot banding may be done before the competition begins.
Colouring is not allowed.
Spray is allowed for top knots.
